Follow these steps to completely remove Bitdefender from your Windows computer.

 

Step 1: Download the Bitdefender Uninstall Tool

  1. Open your web browser and navigate to the Bitdefender uninstall tool page: https://www.bitdefender.com/links/uninstall_consumer_paid.html
  2. Download the tool and save it to a location on your computer that you can easily access, such as your Desktop or Downloads folder.

 

Step 2: Restart Windows in Safe Mode

To restart your computer in Safe Mode, follow the instructions for your version of Windows:

 

For Windows 11, Windows 10 and Windows 8:

  1. Click on the Start menu and select Settings.
  2. Go to System (Update & Security on Windows 10 and Windows 8), then select Recovery.
  3. Under Advanced startup, click on Restart now.
  4. After your computer restarts, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
  5. When your computer restarts again, you will see a list of options. Select Safe Mode by pressing the appropriate number key (usually 4 or F4).

For Windows 7:

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. Before Windows starts, press the F8 key repeatedly until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears.
  3. Use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode and press Enter.

 

Step 3: Run the Bitdefender Uninstall Tool in Safe Mode

  1. Go to the location where you saved the Bitdefender uninstall tool.
  2. Double-click the tool to run it.
  3. Choose Yes if the User Account Control dialogue prompts you to allow this app to make changes.
  4. Click the Uninstall button and wait for the process to complete.

Step 4: Restart Windows in Normal Mode

  1. After the uninstall tool has finished running, click the Restart button.
  2. Allow Windows to restart normally to complete the process.
