As part of Bitdefender’s ongoing commitment to delivering the highest level of security, we regularly evaluate and update our supported platforms to keep pace with technology advancements. To continue providing optimal protection and performance, the Bitdefender Mobile Security app will be adjusting its minimum supported operating system versions as follows:
Effective November 30th, 2024
- Android 5 and earlier will no longer be supported. To continue using Bitdefender Mobile Security for Android, please update to Android 6 or a newer version.
- iOS 12 and earlier will no longer be supported. To maintain access to Bitdefender Mobile Security for iOS features, please update to iOS 13 or a newer version.
Impact on Users: If your device is running an unsupported version of Android or iOS, you may experience partial or complete loss of functionality in the Bitdefender Mobile Security app. We strongly encourage all users to upgrade to the latest compatible operating system version to benefit from enhanced security and the full functionality of Bitdefender Mobile Security.
End of Life Milestones
- October 31, 2024 – Initial End of Life announcement: Users are encouraged to update to a newer operating system version. During this time, critical maintenance updates and support will still be available for the affected OS versions.
- November 30, 2024 – Official End of Life and End of Support date: Bitdefender Mobile Security will cease support for Android 5 and iOS 12. After this period, maintenance updates will no longer be provided.
