How do I cancel Bitdefender auto-renewal?

How does it work?

You will be notified by e-mail 30 days before the actual renewal takes place. This e-mail will provide you with all the details about automatic renewal, including a link for easy cancellation of the service. If the auto-renewal option remains active, your Bitdefender subscription will be automatically extended. No further action is required from you. This way, you will avoid even brief exposure to online threats.

How can I modify the Auto-Renewal option?

If you don’t want to be billed, cancel your subscription auto-renewal before the expiration date, otherwise the system will bill your card automatically. There are two ways to turn off or on auto-renewal:

Turn on/off Auto-Renewal – Method 1

1. Go to https://store.bitdefender.com/myaccount/ in your web browser.

2. Type in the e-mail address associated with your Bitdefender order, then click on SEND ACCESS LINK.

3. You should receive shortly an email from 2Checkout (now Verifone, authorized vendor of Bitdefender products purchased online). Check your email and click on the link inside within 1 hour.

4. It will open a new tab in your internet browser. Click Continue when prompted.

5. Open the My Products tab at the top of the page, then click on Stop automatic subscription renewal to cancel the automatic renewal of your Bitdefender software.

ⓘ Note: If your Bitdefender subscription is not set to auto-renew, instead of Stop automatic subscription renewal you will have an option called Enable auto-renewal, which you can click to turn auto-renewal back on.

6. A window will pop up on your screen. Select the reason for stopping the automatic renewal in the drop-down menu, then press the Stop auto-renewal button twice in a row.

The automatic renewal status will update instantly. Shortly afterward, you will also receive a confirmation email indicating that the auto-renewal for your Bitdefender license has been successfully canceled.

Turn on/off Auto-Renewal – Method 2

1. Log in to your Bitdefender Central account at https://central.bitdefender.com/

2. Go to My Subscriptions on the sidebar menu.

3. Next, access the My Payments tab at the top of the page.

4. Click the View details button next to the subscription for which you want to change the automatic renewal option.

5. A page will open displaying the purchase history of the selected Bitdefender product or service. To stop the automatic renewal of your Bitdefender subscription, click on Manage your subscription renewal options.

ⓘ Note: If your Bitdefender subscription is not set to auto-renew, instead of “Manage your subscription renewal options” you will have an option called Reactivate Subscription, which you can click to turn auto-renewal on.

6. A window will pop up on your screen. Choose End Auto-Renewal.

7. Select the reason for stopping the automatic renewal of your Bitdefender subscription, then press the End Auto-Renewal button twice in a row.

The status of the automatic renewal option will be updated instantly in your Bitdefender Central account.

Shortly afterward, you will also receive an email confirming that the auto-renewal for your Bitdefender subscription has been successfully canceled.
