The Bitdefender CTF Team – PwnThyBytes – came in fifth in the SECCON international capture the flag competition finals that took place in Tokyo, Japan, improving on the 6th position obtained in the online qualifiers round that pitched 1251 teams from 65 countries against each other.
This is the first final round participation in an international contest for the PwnThyBytes team in its current layout, but the players are no strangers to CTF competitions, with a rich competitional history behind them.
The team’s next challenge will be participating in the CODEGATE qualifiers, in hopes of again reaching the finals that will take place in Seoul, Korea.
Meanwhile, they are very busy with preparations to select and train the Romanian CTF team for the European Cybersecurity Challenge finals. Officially, selection will be opened in the following weeks, but if you’re very keen on participating, drop an e-mail to [email protected] – it might yield interesting results right now…
