A recent user behavior study conducted by Bitdefender and Ipsos reveals that for most telco subscribers in Canada, cyberthreats are a serious issue, with 77% of those polled expressing fear of cyberattacks and 33% revealing they experienced a phishing attack or scam in the last 6 months. The biggest reason for concern appears to be financial fraud, with 57% of participants concerned about losing money to cybercriminals. At the same time, 55% are worried about identity theft, and 53% fear data breaches.
45% of Canadians believe that their network operator should be responsible for cybersecurity, with 86% saying that having an online security solution from their provider is very important and 31% saying they would even consider switching service providers for a better cybersecurity offer.
