Bitdefender Mobile Security Tops AV-TEST July/August Rankings; 100 Percent Malware Detection

The Bitdefender Mobile Security application topped the July/August test rankings from independent analysis firm AV-TEST with 100 per cent malware detection, according to an AV-TEST Twitter announcement.

The Germany-based IT security tester has awarded Bitdefender Mobile Security with a maximum score of six out of six for protection. Bitdefender Mobile Security also scored six out of six on performance.

“We are very proud to see Bitdefender Mobile Security topping the AV-Test ranking again” said R. Costache, Bitdefender Mobile Security Project Marketing Manager. “We think it’s our mission to provide our customers with the best protection against mobile threats.”

During the testing, “false-warnings during installation and usage of legitimate apps from Google Play Store,” Bitdefender produced no false positives out of the 1,473 samples.

The same result was recorded on the “false warnings during installation and usage of legitimate software from third party app stores” out of 744 samples.

“The app does not impact the battery life,” says AV-TEST’s July product review of Bitdefender Mobile Security. “The app does not slow down the device during normal usage.”

As for the features, the Anti-Theft and Safe Browsing options from Bitdefender Mobile Security were ranked by AV-TEST as important for security.

Bitdefender Mobile Security aced the AV-Test Android Anti-Malware Protection tests in May/June as well, achieving 100 percent malware detection.
