Andrew Tate’s University Hacked: Chat Logs and Leaked Data of 800,000 Users

Hacktivists have breached Andrew Tate’s online university to steal chat logs and subscriber data, bragging that it was “hilariously” easy to break into the mentoring platform.

The Real World is touted as a global community of like-minded, wealth-focused individuals “on a mission to attain success.” For $49.99 a month, members receive online training and mentoring from a “team of experienced professors [who] tailor their recommendations to your specific needs, suggesting the skills that are most suitable for you.”

Formerly known as Hustler’s University, The Real World promises to help you “escape the matrix” and attain success through health and fitness, e-commerce, copywriting, freelancing, and mastering the power of AI.

Currently under house arrest in Romania, Tate is facing trial on charges of organised criminal activity, among others. But that hasn’t stopped him from posting on social media, including his own Emergency Streams on Rumble.

Troves of leaked data

Tate’s controversy has now attracted hacktivists’ attention.

And they have managed to break into Tate’s tutoring platform, making off with leak data on 800,000 users – including chat logs and 325,000 individual email addresses, according to an exclusive report by the Daily Dot.

The hackers flooded the course’s primary chatroom with emojis while Tate was streaming an episode of his show ‘Emergency Meeting’ on Rumble.

“The Daily Dot was provided with approximately 794,000 usernames for what are believed to be the site’s current and former members, as well as the contents of the platform’s 221 public and 395 private chat servers,” the news site reports. “A list of 324,382 unique email addresses that appear to belong to users who were removed for failure to pay was also handed over.”

In a statement alongside the data dump, the hackers claimed they were able to leverage a “vulnerability” to hack in and “upload emojis, delete attachments, crash everyone’s clients, and temporarily ban people.”

“A source with knowledge of the breach told the Daily Dot that ‘hacktivism’ was cited as a motive, and that the platform’s security was described as ‘hilariously insecure.’”

Andrew Tate has yet to respond to the breach, and his website makes no mention of this incident.

Protect your digital persona

Anyone affected by a breach should consider a data monitoring service. Bitdefender Digital Identity Protection lets you  find out if your data has been leaked online, what type of information was compromised, what risks you face, and whether your information is for sale to fraudsters on the dark web.

Users of Tate’s online university, past or present, should watch out for any unsolicited communications citing their personal data. Use Scamio if you're suspicious of a certain phone call, email or SMS.

It’s unclear if passwords were also leaked in this breach. However, considering how the hackers waltzed in and stole the data of close to a million people, users should exercise caution and refresh their passwords as soon as possible. Consider using a password manager to safeguard your login data.
