They
designed a semi-functional website, with an article posted on 29 of November by
a “well-intentioned” Anthony D. Cataldo under the Finance section. It is a material addressed to all the people
that might be interested to work from home for “the online titan” Google.
The
applicant is promised a good wage and a comfortable working style and all they
have to do is to follow some simple steps such as Google Cash at Home ($1.95
for shipping, allowing Google to screen for serious people), Google Profits ($1.99
for shipping) in order to obtain an availability kit for the applicant’ s area.
Then a Google
account is set up where the employer will send the
tasks (mostly to post links).
“Anybody with basic
computer skills will be able to perform these tasks” adding to that
they say that “We understand the psychology of working from home and we
want to give our employees tasks that are simple and easy, and reward them
generously in order to keep them motivated.”
According
to the scammers, the payment will be made weekly, starting from $750
to $1,500 a week and moving up. At least this is what http://www.fu[removed]yb.com/dailynews/
proudly announces.
This scam wave is not only
spread via drive-by spam messages, but hyperlinks to this “once-in-a-lifetime”
offer have started to pop up on Facebook and Twitter.
While the previous scam wave
involving Google Profit (which is under no circumstance related to Google)
would charge subscribers variable amounts of money as monthly program fees,
this new approach redirects the applicant to various medical offerings,
especially products specialized in weight loss and body cleansing solutions.
In order to stay safe,
BitDefender recommends you to never follow links included in messages from
contacts you do not know, as well as to install and update a complete
antimalware software solution.
