Changes to Endpoint Security for Mac in macOS Catalina (10.15)

macOS Catalina (10.15), the latest release of Apple’s operating system for desktops and laptops, comes with some changes that affect the Endpoint Security for Mac’s behavior. This section describes the differences macOS users will notice with the Bitdefender security agent.
Note
Official support for macOS Catalina (10.15) is available starting with Endpoint Security for Mac version 4.7.39.200039. Existing Endpoint Security for Mac version 4.6.x installations will automatically update to 4.7.39.200039 only after upgrade to macOS Catalina (10.15).
Product installation
macOS Catalina (10.15) requires explicit approval from users to run Installer for Endpoint Security for Mac, when the "EndpointSecurityforMac.pkg" and "installer.xml" files are on Desktop or in the Documents folder.
Users will be prompted by the following window: "Installer" would like to access files in your Desktop folder message. To continue Endpoint Security for Mac installation, they have to click OK. If they click Don’t Allow, installation will fail.
Notification pop-ups
macOS Catalina (10.15) users receive Endpoint Security for Mac notification pop-ups only if they allow them. After installing the security agent, the system will prompt users to allow notifications from EndpointSecurityforMac application. Not allowing them will not affect the product normal functioning. Users can configure these notifications later in System Preferences.
Full Disk Encryption
In macOS Catalina (10.15), Endpoint Security for Mac requires user’s approval to operate FileVault. After entering their credentials, users must click OK in a new window to start encryption. If they click Don’t Allow, Endpoint Security for Mac will prompt again users after a couple of minutes to enter their credentials.
