The official X (former Twitter) account of Donald Trump Jr. started showing a large number of extremely offensive posts, leading the platform users to guess that the account was actually compromised.
A large volume of strange and evidently false posts from Donald Trump Jr. seemingly lasted for around 10 minutes. Many of the posts were taken down in a matter of minutes, but it was more than enough time to be read by its followers, according to a Euronews report.
According to Andrew Surabian, one of Donald Trump Jr. advisors, the account was hacked, and none of the posts actually came from the former president's son. Donald Trump Jr. later posted on Instagram that he would like to get the hacker's phone number and that it would be a good time to hire someone to manage his social media accounts.
The implication was that, due to some carelessness on his part, the hacker managed to compromise the X account and post weird, insulting and sometimes explicit content. In one post, the hacker announced, falsely, the death of former President Donald Trump.
No information on how the hack was possible has surfaced so far. This would not be the first time a celebrity loses access to a social media account. In fact, one of the most famous hacks in recent history happened in 2020 when numerous Twitter accounts belonging to Barack Obama, Elon Musk, and many others, were taken over to promote a crypto scheme.
