The State Bar of Georgia has disclosed a cybersecurity incident that led to unauthorized access to its information systems.
According to an announcement posted by the justice administrator, the incident occurred earlier this year.
“As most of our members are aware, a cybersecurity incident occurred in April 2022,” the notification reads. “We recently completed a comprehensive investigation concerning the unauthorized access to our systems. Upon discovering the incident, we immediately took steps to secure our systems and began an investigation.”
The State Bar found that, During an investigation alongside a third-party forensic team, the State Bar found that an unauthorized individual was able to evade their defenses and possibly steal personal information of members and former and current employees.

The State Bar is offering complimentary membership for identity protection services for both former and current employees and emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant against fraud.
Impacted individuals are urged to review their account statements and credit reports for unusual or suspicious activity. A dedicated number has also been set up for individuals to call for assistance or further information on the incident.
