Global Takedown of Massive Child Exploitation Platform with More than 1.8 Million Users

The State Criminal Police of Bavaria (Bayerisches Landeskriminalamt) and the Bavarian Central Office for the Prosecution of Cybercrime (ZCB), alongside Europol, have shuttered Kidflix, one of the world’s biggest child predator platforms.

While it’s difficult to even imagine that such platforms exist, the truth is that they are out there, and they have many more users than we can conceive. The German and Dutch authorities seized the server on March 11 and found around 72,000 videos of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

The number of users that logged into the platform over just a few years is staggering. The official communique says that 1.8 million users worldwide logged on to the platform between April 2022 and March 2025.

“The investigation resulted in the identification of almost 1,400 suspects worldwide. So far, 79 of these individuals have been arrested for sharing and distributing CSAM media. Some of those arrested not only uploaded and watched videos but also abused children” said the authorities.

Many years of operation

Kidflix has been around since 2021, and has become so active in recent months that investigators believe around 3.5 new videos were uploaded to the platform every hour, including many previously unknown to law enforcement.

What made this platform even more dangerous was that users were allowed to download videos and to stream their own. Moreover, a system of payments via cryptocurrency was in place.

“The dismantling of this criminal network demonstrates the added value that EU agencies like Europol provide. This is precisely why the European Commission has presented a strategy for greater security in Europe. Criminals operate across borders, so we must also support investigators in doing the same,” said Magnus Brunner, the EU Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration.
