Allowing Bitdefender processes to find devices on local networks in macOS Sequoia
In macOS Sequoia (version 15), you may be prompted to allow Bitdefender processes to find devices on local networks.
Issue
The pop-up window shows up when Bitdefender Endpoint Security Tools (BEST) agent is configured to connect to a proxy.
The message can be for these Bitdefender processes:
BDLDaemon
BDCoreIssues
BDUpdDaemon
bdconnectorservice
bdredline
bdch
com.bitdefender.cst.net.dci.dci-network-extension
SetupDowloader
Example of message received on your Mac:
"Allow “BDLDaemon” to find devices on local networks?
This will allow the app to discover, connect to and collect data from devices on your networks."
Until you allow these processes to access local networks, BEST may not run properly.
Solution
To address this situation, you must allow any of Bitdefender processes when prompted.
After you allow it, the process will be displayed on your Mac under System Settings >Privacy & Security > Local Network.
