Bitdefender Security for AWS components
Bitdefender Security for AWS consists of the following components:
Control Center – the central management component, providing a web-based interface for deploying, configuring, monitoring, and reporting on the security status of Amazon EC2 instances. Control Center also includes Update Server, the component handling all product upgrade and signature update tasks.
Security for AWS users have a unique Control Center account that is registered and synchronized with their AWS accounts. Control Center is available at the following web address: https://gravityzone.bitdefender.com.
Security Server – a hardened Linux-based virtual server, which centralizes and de-duplicates most of Bitdefender’s antimalware functionality. The Security Server performs the actual scanning, by serving the scan requests of the agents installed on protected instances. Consequently, all malware signatures are stored and maintained up to date automatically by the Security Server.
The Security Server is hosted and maintained by Bitdefender in the Amazon EC2 cloud. The Interaction between the Security Server and the other components is transparent to the Control Center user.
BEST – the component that must be installed in each instance to be protected. BEST facilitates on-access and on-demand scans, by sending scan requests to the Security Server and applying actions according to the received scan response.
