Setting up an integration with Slack
To integrate with Slack, you need to meet the following requirements:
Your Slack user account must have permission to add new applications to your workspace.
The Slack App Manager for your company must review the permission request and approve it before the integration can be completed.
Once you have access, you will then be asked to allow the permissions requested by GravityZone Cloud Security. To do this, click the Allow button to authorize the integration.
To integrate Slack with GravityZone Cloud Security, follow these steps:
Click the Settings icon in the upper-right corner.
Select Integrations.
Under the Notification Destinations section, click the Connect button for the Slack integration:
You are redirected to a Slack authentication page.
Enter your company workspace and sign in.
Click Allow to authorize the integration:
The integration is now complete.
The No connection status is no longer showing under Slack, and today's date is displayed under the Integration date column.
After adding the Slack integration, follow these steps to integrate individual Slack channels:
Click the Configuration button for Slack under the Notification Destinations section:
The Channel Configuration page is displayed.
Select one of the two available options:
An existing Slack channel - Manually select one of your company's existing Slack channels. You can scroll through a list, or search by name or ID.
Create New Slack Channel - Type in a name and the channel will be automatically created.
Note
Users will need to search the newly created channel by name and manually join it.
Click Save changes.
