License management
Overview
GravityZone is offered under two primary licensing models designed to meet different business requirements:
Yearly licensing - This option allows the purchase of products through individual license keys. There are two types of yearly licenses: a main license that can be used independently, and add-on licenses that unlock additional features but require a main license to be active.
Monthly subscriptions - With this option, the license is purchased by a Partner company from a Distributor company, and shares it with other companies. Distributors sell directly to Partners. Partners are the ones who enable license entitlements (seats and technologies) to Customer companies, and also provide security installation, configuration, management, and monitoring services.
GravityZone license keys can be managed from the My Company > License page in Control Center. When your current license key is about to expire, a message will appear in the console informing you that it needs to be renewed. To enter a new license key or view the current license details, go to the License page.
Overview
The GravityZone security services are licensed and sold separately. Each GravityZone security service requires a valid basic license key. At least one valid license key must be provided for using GravityZone.
Besides the basic security services, GravityZone also provides important protection features as add-ons. Each add-on is licensed with a separate key and you can use it only together with a basic valid license. If the main license is invalid, you will view the features settings, but you will be unable to use them.
Note
Control Center is provided for free with any GravityZone security service.
GravityZone license keys can be managed from the Configuration > License page in Control Center. When your current license key is about to expire, a message will appear in the console informing you that it needs to be renewed. To enter a new license key or view the current license details, go to the Configuration > License page from the left side menu.
Trials
You can choose to test GravityZone and decide if it is the right solution for your organization. The trial will differ based on the selected licensing model:
Yearly licenses
You can request a license key by accessing the Free Trial section from our website. The trial is valid for 30 days and it is free. During trial, the company can test the GravityZone. The trial provides 50 seats and features equivalent with a GravityZone Business Security Premium license along with the following add-ons:
GravityZone Full Disk Encryption
GravityZone Patch Management
GravityZone Security for Storage
GravityZone Email Security
Note
You may view a red ribbon on the upper side of the webpage, informing you of the expired trial. If using only Security for AWS, please disregard this warning, as it refers to other services.
Monthly subscriptions
You can request a monthly subscription trial by contacting a Bitdefender reseller. The trial offers access to all features and add-ons available with GravityZone Cloud Security for MSP, covering 25 endpoints. This includes Full Disk Encryption, Security for Virtualized Environments, and Integrity Monitoring.
To continue using GravityZone after the trial period expires, you must purchase a license key and use it to register the product.
Product trials
In addition to GravityZone trials, existing users can also try out individual products or features using the Product trials feature.
Product Trials enable you to try out other products directly from the GravityZone console, even if you already have an active license. For more information, refer to Product Trials.
Purchasing a product
Yearly licensing
To purchase a license, contact us by email at [email protected] or submit an inquiry on the Bitdefender website for business solutions.
Activating your license
When you purchase a paid subscription plan for the first time, a license key is issued for you. The GravityZone subscription is enabled by activating this license key.
Warning
Activating a license does NOT append its features to the currently active license. Instead, the new license overrides the old one. For example, activating a 10 endpoints license on top of a 100 endpoints license will NOT result in a subscription for 110 endpoints. On the contrary, it will reduce the number of covered endpoints from 100 to 10.
The license key is sent to you via email when you purchase it. Depending on your service agreement, once your license key is issued, your service provider may activate it for you. Alternately, you can activate your license manually, from the My company page. For more information refer to Manage your company
Monthly subscriptions
To purchase a license, contact a Bitdefender reseller or contact us by email at [email protected].
Your subscription is managed by Bitdefender or by the Bitdefender partner who sells you the service. Some Bitdefender partners are security service providers. Depending on your subscription arrangements, GravityZone day-to-day operation may be handled either internally by your company or externally by the security service provider.
