Bitdefender GravityZone Cloud Security for MSP FAQ
This section addresses some of the most frequently asked questions about Bitdefender GravityZone Cloud Security for MSP.
What is Bitdefender GravityZone Cloud Security for MSP?
Bitdefender GravityZone Cloud Security for MSP is a next-generation security suite designed to help service providers protect customers’ endpoints against ransomware, zero-day malware, fileless attacks, and other sophisticated threats.
Why should Managed Service Providers (MSPs) choose Bitdefender GravityZone Cloud Security for MSP?
Bitdefender GravityZone Cloud Security for MSP can:
Minimize security risks and costs associated with breaches, false alerts, and user slowdowns. Bitdefender consistently ranks first for protection, performance and low number of false positives in major 3rd party security tests.
Enhance sophisticated and targeted attack detection, reduce costs and grow business with a complete MSP suite and a full stack of endpoint security built-in layers. Thus, there is no need to use separate solutions from different vendors – you manage hardening and control, automatic prevention and detection, and response layers with a single Bitdefender platform and agent.
Simplify security management with a multi-tenant, web-based console that lets MSPs automatically uninstall competitive solutions, perform network discovery, do mass deployments, enforce security policies, and monitor and report on security and compliance for all customers.
Streamline IT flows and operations even more using RMM/PSA integrations, extensive API, and monthly, usage-based licensing.
What are the systems protected by Bitdefender GravityZone Cloud Security for MSP?
Bitdefender GravityZone Cloud Security for MSP protects both physical and virtual:
Windows workstations and servers
Linux workstations and servers
macOS workstations
Which are the security layers or modules included without extra costs in the Bitdefender MSP Standard security offering? How does the licensing work?
The main technologies/modules that are available in the Bitdefender MSP security suite include:
Local and cloud machine learning and signatures
Content Control
Web Filtering
Firewall
Device Control
Advanced Anti-Exploit
Process Inspector (Advanced Threat Control)
When deploying protection to customer endpoints, MSPs can choose which modules they want to use.
Regardless of which modules are used, MSPs are invoiced each month based on the total number of endpoints across all customer deployments that have had the Bitdefender standard endpoint protection installed and have connected to the Bitdefender servers at least once in the previous month. For details, refer to Calculate the endpoint usage with the Monthly License Usage report.
Which are the optional billable security offerings that MSPs can deploy and administer from the same Bitdefender GravityZone Cloud Security for MSP platform?
Full Disk Encryption - prevents loss of sensitive information and helps meet data regulations.
Security for Exchange - protects employees from email malware and spam.
Security for Virtualized Environments - delivers the best performance security for virtual machines.
Patch Management - simplifies patching efforts and mitigates application vulnerabilities.
Advanced Threat Security (HyperDetect and Sandbox Analyzer) - includes tunable machine learning and cloud sandboxing to protect against fileless and other advanced attacks with threat context and visibility.
Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) - looks for anomalies and offers early visibility into advanced attacks, indicators of compromise (IOCs), one-click threat investigation and incident response workflows.
Integrity Monitoring - reviews and validates changes made on Windows and Linux endpoints to assess the integrity of multiple entities.
How does the monthly usage-based licensing work?
Refer to Calculate the endpoint usage with the Monthly License Usage report for information about how each optional security offering is licensed and how you can get the monthly usage information.
Is there any number of virtual workstations (VDI) or virtual servers (VS) recommended for best performance with Security for Virtualized Environments centralized scanning?
There is no specific number. The advantage of Security for Virtualized Environments comes from the centralized caching capabilities that allow faster scanning of files from the endpoints. Even you have only 50 virtual machines on a host you can benefit from this advantage.
Does the EDR price already include Advanced Threat Security price?
No. There is a separate price for Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and Advanced Threat Security. However, it is strongly recommended that Advanced Threat Security is used with EDR, as HyperDetect and Sandbox Analyzer enhance EDR detection and investigation capabilities.

What are the differences between the Bitdefender MSP Advanced Threat Security (HyperDetect and Sandbox Analyzer) and the enterprise offering of GravityZone Business Security Premium suite?
Bitdefender GravityZone Business Security Premium suite is a bundle offer that includes endpoint protection, Security for Exchange, Security for Virtualized Environments, HyperDetect, and Sandbox Analyzer.
MSPs using the endpoint protection can activate Advanced Threat Security with HyperDetect and Sandbox Analyzer, but it will not include Security for Virtualized Environments or Security for Exchange, which are invoiced separately in Bitdefender GravityZone Cloud Security for MSP.
What are the differences between the Bitdefender MSP EDR offering and the enterprise offering of Bitdefender GravityZone Business Security Enterprise?
Bitdefender GravityZone Business Security Enterprise is a bundle offer that includes endpoint protection, Security for Exchange, Security for Virtualized Environments, HyperDetect, Sandbox Analyzer and EDR.
In the MSP security suite, EDR is available as an optional billable service that can be licensed based on usage without Security for Virtualized Environments and Security for Exchange.
